The textile articles sold by Aussie Products as being of Australian Aboriginal origin begin life as paintings. These are these transposed onto a range of fabrics, some of which are sold as yardage, some as quilting pre-cuts, while others are transformed into headgear, home-wares and scarves and ties.

The designs are all attributed to the original artists, and they benefit from the sale of articles made from fabrics bearing their designs.

BUSH CAMP by Audrey Napanaknga

Audrey was born in 1950 in Yuendumu, a settlement about 370 km away from Alice Springs, NT. She grew up in Yuendumu and went through local primary school. Audrey learnt painting from Netta Williams (Napanangka) and by watching tribal elder’s body painting. Both of her parents were good artists. Audrey started painting on canvas in 1986.

She exhibited her works in Rome, Venice and other European cities.

Some of Audrey’s dreaming is bush tucker (food), witchetty grubs, Bush Sultana and Bush tomato.

Nowadays Audrey is one of the senior and well respected female artists in Yuendumu. She has taught many young aboriginal artists to paint one of them is her niece Miriam Williams Napangardi who is already very famous artist.

GATHERING BY THE RIVER by Barbara Egan

Barbara Egan comes from the Robinvale region of Victoria. She grew on the Murray River in Robinvale. With her connection towards her land of Robinvale and the Murray River, she would never move out from there. Her dreaming’s mainly involved River Dreaming, Emu Bush, etc.
